Dance as Creation is a 3 hour workshop that is all about dancing. It is an ode to dancing as space for expression and creation.
Through intentional guidance, participants will be invited into exploring dance through multiple lenses.
Some of these lenses are:
Body mapping - sensing deeper into our bodies and tracking their movements through space.
Improvisation - finding creative and new pathways to express ourselves through dance.
Story-telling - how do we describe a memory, retell a story, or even, re-write a story through dance?
Composition - expanding our ability to notice other dancers in space and co-create improvisation thats exciting and complex together.
Choreographic creation - creating movements, sharing movements, weaving them together and making works of art with each of our inspirations.
In short, we will be dancing, getting to know our bodies in new and novel ways and developing skills that will help us in our creativity and capacity to innovate in dance and in LIFE.
You are meant to leave this workshop sweaty and inspired, filled with experiences of creation that will support your life at large.
