Join Class XII *NCCC alum in celebrating a 20-year anniversary of service and dedication with an AmeriCorps Anniversary Service Project this fall! Together, we'll honor the legacy of all who've served, while remembering the loved ones we've lost - since; with hope in our hearts for collective action and reformation. AmeriCorps - the federal agency responsible for national service and volunteerism; was forced to reduce its workforce and breadth of service at the direction of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in recent months. Effectively eliminating agency staff by an estimated 85%, demobilizing AmeriCorps NCCC, and terminating $400 million in grants; this loss of funding impacts nearly 33,000 corps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers at more than 1,000 nonprofit and civic organizations. As a result, communities still reeling from flooding caused by Hurricane Helene are left shorthanded; but your hands can make a difference! Let's build something meaningful, together, this year.
As our class saw with Hurricane Katrina in 2005, it takes a long time to clean-up - let alone rebuild - after a natural disaster. But many hands make for light work!
Will you be part of this momentous occasion?
