Set in the 1590s, "Something Rotten!" introduces us to the Bottom brothers, two playwrights struggling in the shadow of a certain Renaissance rock star named William Shakespeare. Desperate for a hit, they consult a soothsayer who reveals the future of theater will involve something completely new: musicals! Can these brothers really invent a whole new art form to outshine the Bard? What kind of chaotic, comedic genius will unfold when they try to write the world's very first musical?
