Join us at the Cornerstone Café for a relaxed, sociable afternoon of stitching, conversation, and creativity. In this free facilitated session, you’ll have the chance to design and stitch your own square to add to the large-scale artwork whilst enjoying a chat over a warming cuppa and maybe a slice of one of the delicious cakes on offer. Materials are provided, and no sewing experience is needed.
About the Project
Stitching Ashbourne is about community, creativity, and connection. Together, we will create a large-scale embroidered textile work that celebrates the built and cultural heritage of Ashbourne.
Surrounding a centerpiece depicting some of Ashbourne's most iconic buildings will be over 100 hand-stitched squares, each one telling a unique story, memory, or celebration of what Ashbourne means to its people. Whether you’re 6 or 95, this is your chance to stitch your story into Ashbourne’s history.
Come along, bring a friend, and be part of something truly special. Together, we’ll stitch Ashbourne’s story.
