Multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Byron Isaacs checks all of these boxes and will be at Transparent Clinch Gallery June 20, for a musical throw-down. Kicking off this event will be Byron—bass player for The Lumineers, on a break from their world tour—and former USA Today Network Music Writer John W. Barry, discussing John’s book, Levon Helm: Rock, Roll & Ramble—The Inside Story of the Man, the Music and the Midnight Ramble. Among the topics to be discussed will be the commonalities shared by Woodstock, NY , and Asbury Park. Byron played bass and sang in the Levon Helm Band during the former Band drummer’s final curtain call, as he hosted his intimate and wildly-popular Midnight Ramble house concerts in Woodstock, NY . A music journalist for decades, John was on hand for Levon’s incredible comeback and captured it all in his book,
which prominently features Byron’s experiences and insights from Levon Helm Studios.
Following the book discussion, Byron and his musical co-conspirator, guitarist and vocalist Peter Cole (Lava Baby), will bring their band Lost Leaders to the Transparent Clinch Gallery stage. Lost Leaders are unpredictable, raw, seismic and hot to the touch. They take no prisoners and they have a new record, called “Hungry Ghosts". Vinyl of “Hungry Ghosts,” as well as all kinds of Lost Leaders merch, will be available for purchase; as will personally-inscribed copies of Levon Helm: Rock, Roll & Ramble.
