Worthing frontiers
Worthing Airsoft intend to host a Wild West themed event at their woodland site on the south coast in West Sussex.
Using airsoft weapons we want to set the historic clock back to the mid 1890s in America, back to a more simple time yet ruthless, with Saloons and a Jail house shoot outs, whisky Moonshine, trapping and bounty hunting.
Worthing Airsoft is a long established site and will be theming the whole site to the event, with a central town, resembling a fictional town in mid America. Trade can be done with townsfolk and vital supplies (ammo) can be bought in the general store.
The event will be held on Saturday 19th July 2025. There will be free camping for the Friday evening for those who wish to travel. We will start off quite early with a quick chrono and a safety brief and get the event under way as soon as possible. Plan is to finish around 5pm have a break for while then hold a social in the evening and free camping again to allow a leisurely drive home on Sunday.
So how is it all going to work then?
Every player will start the day with $20 & 30 round of 0.2 ammo, the cheap stuff. You want 0.28s? The good stuff? Well that's gunna cost extra. The objective of the day is to see which faction banks the most money.
There will be 3 factions,
The cowboys, mainly good natured but capable of mischief, making and spending money
The frontiersmen, those that just want to make a living and trade with the nearby townsfolk. Hunters and trappers with the occasional prospector.
The Red Legs, mainly made up of ex civil war veterans, enforcers and a paramilitary force.
The main objective is to stay alive and make money, your faction can bank money in the town where it is safe, the faction with the most banked money at the end of the day, wins.
There's more details that will be published in a rules document.
There will be many ways to make money, trapping, prospecting, Moonshine and of course good old robbery.
What weapons can I use?
Well any under lever action rifle, or any revolver. Any single shot rifle, vsr with a single shot adapter fitted or one of those new fangled pump action shotguns.
You don't bring ammo to the event, we will supply everything.
There will be rental guns available.
But I don't have a cowboy load out? The charity shop is your friend, a check shirt and jeans will do for a start, it's the 1890s America a time where skill guile and even some diplomacy were of far more use than any camouflage and uniform.
Try to buy a cowboy hat, they are cheap enough on various sites and just help set the theme.
There will be a Shindig on the Saturday evening to which all will be made very welcome.
