A special treat for kids of all ages, The Enchanted Version of Cinderella originally aired on television in 1997 starring Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as the Fairy Godmother. The show features many of your favorites songs, like "There's Music in You," "A Lovely Night" and "Do I Love You Because You're Beautiful?"

The show will be directed by Kathryn Sprandel with music direction by Cyndi Wallman and choreography by Maya Nellum. Kathryn and Maya are both Talent Machine alumni. Cyndi is a highly accomplished singer, performer and teacher who has traveled the world performing with her husband, Roy. She is currently a vocal coach with Stageworkz Theatre Arts Project and has provided the music direction for many Talent Machine productions.

SHOW SYNOPSIS

The timeless story of Cinderella follows the journey of a kind-hearted young woman who endures mistreatment at the hands of her cruel stepmother and stepsisters. Despite her hardships, Cinderella remains gentle and hopeful. When a royal ball is announced, her dreams seem out of reach—until her Fairy Godmother appears and magically transforms her rags into a beautiful gown, granting her the chance to attend. At the ball, she captivates the Prince, but must flee before midnight when the magic wears off, leaving behind only a glass slipper. The Prince embarks on a quest across the kingdom to find the mysterious girl, ultimately proving that kindness and love can overcome all obstacles.

THEMES

The musical explores timeless themes such as love, kindness, transformation, and the power of hope. At its heart, Cinderella champions the importance of believing in oneself. In more modern adaptations, such as the Enchanted Edition, the story also delves into ideas of social justice, empowerment, and the courage to change one's destiny—emphasizing that true magic lies in self-worth and compassion.

LOCATION AND PARKING

All shows will be performed at the Pascal Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Anne Arundel Community College, 101 College Parkway, Arnold, MD. Free parking available in Lot A.

ABOUT OUR COMPANY

The Talent Machine, the premier theater company for children and youth of Central Maryland, has been amazing audiences of all ages for more than 35 years. We offer highly professional productions filled with talented young singers, dancers and actors. We produce four shows per year, three in the summer and our annual holiday spectacular.

Our teen show is The Addams Family, featuring performers ages 14 to 18, which runs July 11 through 20. Our youth show is Cinderella: Enchanted Version, August 15 through 24, featuring a cast of kids ages 7 to 14. Our annual holiday spectacular -- now a family tradition for many in Central Maryland -- will be in offered December. In addition, this year we have added a special production to our schedule for the 2nd year in a row: On May 2 and 3, we will present High School Musical Jr., in partnership with The Penguin Project, a nationally recognized organization that creates opportunities for children with disabilities to perform on stage. We hope to continue to offer this opportunity in the coming years.
