Spend an unforgettable afternoon surrounded by nature, wildlife, and good company. This special sunset edition of the Kaarakin Wildlife Experience blends close-up animal encounters with a golden-hour hike through stunning bushland - perfect for teens, adults, solo hikers, families, or friends looking to slow down and reconnect.
you'll start at the Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre, a sanctuary dedicated to rescuing and releasing WA’s endangered black cockatoos. On this behind-the-scenes visit, you’ll:
🖤 Hear incredible rescue and release stories
🖤 Meet the resident black cockatoos, kangaroos, emus and dingoes
🖤 Step inside Jack’s Interactive Aviary - where friendly cockatoos might land on you for a gumnut snack!
After 1.5 hours with the animals, we’ll lace up for a gentle 3km sunset hike through the neighbouring bushland. Along the way, you'll pause on a granite outcrop for a light snack and sweeping city views - the perfect spot to soak in the golden glow of dusk as the day winds down.
This experience is all about connection - with nature, with wildlife, and with each other. Plus, $20 from every ticket goes directly to Kaarakin to support their vital conservation work.
🌿 Presented in partnership with the City of Armadale.
Proudly supported by the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport (CITS) as part of the Spring Steps hiking series - celebrating vibrant, inclusive, and connected WA communities.
