💙 Walk for Mental Health - Roleystone Supporting Mental Health Team 💙
'Roleystone Family Centre' and the 'Roleystone Senior Football Club' are proud to team up to raise awareness and support for mental health in our community.
Mental health matters and together, we can help shift the conversation. Suicide doesn't have to be an option. We're here to remind each other that support, compassion, and connection are always within reach.
🚶♀️ Join us on Tuesday the 9th of September at Cross Park Oval.
- You can walk anytime during the day, but we’ll be kicking off our group walk at 4pm, meeting just near the playground.
- The oval perimeter is approximately 400 metres, and together we’ll aim to walk 9km, that’s 22 laps.
- Walk solo or create a team.
- Tag in friends and family to help you reach the distance.
- What matters most is showing up and showing support. This event is about solidarity, not speed.
- 🐕 Family-Friendly & Inclusive - prams, wheelchairs or mobility devices welcome.
- Wear black or blue, colours associated with mental health awareness.
- Want to dress up? Be bold, be bright, be proud!
- Dogs are welcome on leads and yes, dog costumes are highly encouraged.

🧠 Suicide in Australia
Let’s walk with purpose, because the stats remind us how urgent this is:
- 3,214 lives lost to suicide in 2023
- That’s almost 9 lives every day - EVERY DAY!
- Suicide is the leading cause of death for people aged 15–44
- 75% of those lost were men
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander suicide rates are 2.5 times higher
- LGBTQIA+ communities face suicide attempt rates up to 10 times higher
Behind every number is a life, a family, a story—and a reason to care.
Let’s walk, talk, and lift each other up. 💙
