Rooted in Texas but firmly planted in the heart of the Washington, D.C. music scene, Kevin Dudley is a multi-instrumentalist and storyteller whose songs come alive with a dusty baritone and a wry sense of humor. With lyrics that wander through diners, death, heartbreak, and the everyday poetry of life, Kevin’s music blends the grit of the blues with the sway of western swing — calling to mind influences from Merle Haggard to Robert Johnson.
A few highlights from Kevin’s musical journey:
• His debut CD’s title track, Texarkana Diner (produced by Kathy Fink), found its way onto the soundtrack of James Cameron’s film 50 to 1.
• He recently produced and played guitar on Valeria Stewart’s 2025 release, Raices.
• His songwriting has earned him honors from American Songwriter Magazine, the Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest, the Paramount Songwriting Contest, and the John Lennon
Songwriting Contest.
• He fronts two beloved Northern Virginia bands: Atomic Hillbillies and Snake Farmers.
• He’s a sought-after session guitarist on countless recording projects.
By fan request, Kevin is now fundraising to record a collection of songs written over the past ten years. He’ll be kicking off the campaign with an intimate Backyard Concert at Pollard Street. Bring your own chair (some provided), pack your favorite snacks
and drinks (BYOB welcome), and enjoy an evening of music under the stars — no smoking, plenty of stories, and more music on the way.
