I forbindelse med udstillingen ”Bugs & Metamorphosis” inviterer Kunsthal Aarhus til et eftermiddagsarrangement om, hvordan “bugs” – fra insekter til bakterier – er en uundgåelig og værdifuld del af vores liv. Her handler det ikke om at bekæmpe dem, men om at lære at leve med dem og opdage de mange potentialer, som samlivet rummer for vores fælles helbred og fremtid 🪰

• Oplæsning af den belgiske Nobelpris-modtager Maurice Maeterlincks bog ”Myrernes liv” (1930) ved Kirsten Olesen
• Oplæg om menneskets historiske forhold til bakterier ved Adam Bencard, forsker ved Medicinsk Museion
• Oplæg om insekters betydning for biodiversitet ved Joachim Offenberg, Aarhus Universitet
• Videohilsen fra den amerikanske forsker Rob Dunn om, hvordan vi deler vores hjem med alskens insekter og kryb
”It’s a Bugs Life” er det andet arrangement i serien ”Planetarisk Helbred” hvor Kunsthal Aarhus præsenterer kunstneriske og videnskabelige perspektiver på naturens tilstand og dens betydning for os mennesker – og alt det liv, vi deler kloden med. Serien er produceret i samarbejde med forlaget A Mock Book og kurator/forfatter Jacob Lillemose.
Til arrangementet serveres drinks med Campari, der oprindeligt fik sin røde farve fra skjoldlus 🍹

The focus is not on how to fight them, but on how to live with them and discover the many potentials that coexistence holds for our shared health and future 🪰

“It’s a Bugs Life” is the second event in the series “Planetary Health”, where Kunsthal Aarhus presents artistic and scientific perspectives on one of the pressing issues of our time: the state of nature and its significance for humans – and all the life we share the planet with. The series is produced in collaboration with the publisher A Mock Book and curator/author Jacob Lillemose.
Drinks with Campari, which originally got its red colour from scale insects, will be served at the event 🍹
