From the Farmers Market to Your Plate – Explore, Taste, and Create!

Join me for a vibrant morning of discovery at the Cabrillo farmers market!
We’ll start the day at some of my favorite farm stands, where you’ll meet local growers and learn how to choose the freshest, most flavorful fruits and veggies of the season. I’ll share tips for picking peak produce and show you how to turn those colorful finds into simple, delicious meals at home.
You’ll even get a fun challenge: pick one new vegetable you’ve never tried before—and use your class-provided market bucks to buy enough to share with the group!
After the market, we’ll head back to the kitchen classroom to wash, prep, and create fresh, flavorful dishes together. If you’ve ever looked at all those beautiful veggies and thought, “What do I do with this?”—this is your moment to explore, experiment, and taste something new.
With summer in full swing and the market overflowing with delicious options, there’s no better time to celebrate the bounty of Monterey County. Plus, we’ll talk about the exciting science behind why a diverse, plant-forward diet is one of the best things you can do for your gut health and long-term wellness.
