Event Information:Tormé Sings Tormé, a landmark tribute celebrating what would have been the 100th birthday of the iconic Mel Tormé. This concert is led by his son, international performer Steve March Tormé. Known as The Velvet Fog, the influence of Mel Tormé on American music is profound. A gifted vocalist, composer, arranger, and actor, he helped shape the Great American Songbook and co-wrote one of its most beloved standards, The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire). With a 10 piece orchestra and the original arrangements of Marty Paich, his longtime collaborator, this show is more than a concert. It is a personal, heartfelt tribute filled with rare family stories, archival video, and photos that bring the legacy of Mel Tormé vividly to life.
