Got Meds You Don’t Need? Safely Dispose of Them on Drug Take Back Day!
Almost every home has one—that drawer or cabinet with old prescriptions and medications you no longer need. It may not seem like a big deal, but keeping unused meds around can lead to serious risks, from accidental harm to potential misuse.
✅ Every year, more than 2.9 million opioid prescriptions are written in Wisconsin.
✅ In past Take Back events, Wisconsinites safely disposed of over 100,000 pounds of medications—the weight of TWO full-size snowplows!
And every pill safely disposed of helps protect our families, friends, and communities. Safe disposal saves lives. ❤️
Here’s how you can help:
1️⃣ Check your cabinets and gather up any unused or expired medications.
2️⃣ Cross out or remove personal information on labels.
3️⃣ Place the meds in a zip-top bag.
4️⃣ Bring them to our Drug Take Back Day collection on 9/13!
📅 Drug Take Back Days happen twice a year in Grand Chute (April & September).
🏥 Can’t make it? No worries! We have a year-round permanent drop box available in the lobby of the Grand Chute Town Hall.
Let’s work together to keep our communities safe!
