This month’s presentation: 60 Years of Christmas Marionettes
Join the Appleton Historical Society on Wednesday, August 13 at 6:30 pm to discover the fascinating story behind one of Appleton's most beloved Christmas traditions!
It all began in 1965 at All Saints Church in Appleton—an enchanting Christmas tradition that still lives on today. Join us as Dave Payne shares the story of how his childhood passion for puppetry, sparked in Neenah at age 8, eventually brought him full circle to carry on the All Saints Marionettes' legacy.
Known to audiences as “Mr. Dave,” he has spent over 20 years performing and directing marionette and puppet shows, blending his love for education and storytelling. From school playgrounds to state-wide stages, his work has delighted thousands.
Discover how Mr. Dave’s journey intertwined with the All Saints Marionettes and how he and the Fox Folk Marionettes & Friends have kept the tradition alive—bringing Christmas, Easter, and Christian stories to life across the Fox Valley. Get an exclusive peek behind the curtain at the puppets, props, and the rich history chronicled in his 250-page book.
