EXPRESS CONCERT: Cassie Pilgrim Plays Bach’s Oboe d’Amore Concerto

SPCO Principal Oboe Cassie Pilgrim curates a program of Baroque and contemporary music stretching from the “big bang” to the “end of time.” Movements from Jean-Féry Rebel’s "Les Elémens" — a musical telling of the creation of the world from the 18th century — are woven between a collection of works for small chamber ensembles featuring SPCO musicians. Moving toward the titular Concerto for Oboe d’Amore by Johann Sebastian Bach, this free-flowing Express Concert explores themes of space and time, creation and destruction.
