Come sow the seeds of our future with us! Everyone had so much fun with our planting parties last winter that we're doing it again.
In preparation for our upcoming Plant Sale Fundraiser November 8th, we are currently focused on creating the thousands of plants that we will need to have available on offer.
Each Saturday we will have varying opportunities to help pot on seedlings into larger containers and help start new seeds. Members with suitable home locations to nursery plants will have an opportunity to take plants home to grow on for our sale. You do not need experience. Just come help and learn.
All plants grow at different paces, in different places and in different ways with different requirements. When creating a vast inventory of healthy, robust plants to all be ready at the same time for one deliver by date, it requires diligent planning and adherence to a set schedule of sow, pot on, prune and ready for sale.
Saturdays are also our open days for volunteers who would like to help out in the Community Forest Garden and guests who would love to tour the garden to learn more and join our mighty little garden club.
We have membership applications available on hand and are able to accept exact cash or check on the spot to get you on board our green team as a brand new member. (membership is currently $15 per individual, $25 per couple but will increase in October)
We also do have a few garden plots remaining that are still available to rent in our community garden. Now is your chance to go all in and get your very own community garden bed so you can garden alongside us. (bed/plot rental is $50 after a new member has completed their required 10 hours of volunteer service in the garden. Planting parties count towards volunteer hours.)
