The Winter Solstice — the longest night of the year — is a natural moment of pause, reflection and turning inward. For many, grief, trauma and accumulated emotional weight can feel like their own kind of long night — slow, heavy, or without clear direction.
The Longest Night: A Winter Solstice Grief & Healing Workshop is a powerful grief and trauma-informed, breath-centered workshop designed to help you release what has been stored, soften what has felt tight or overwhelming and gently welcome the return of light and possibility.
Join us as your cofacilitators Nola Simpson, LCMCH and Kristin Adams of Santori Minds Breathwork bring together a day of release and healing as we move from the longest night into lighter days. Together, Nola brings her trauma-informed, grief-specialized clinical expertise, and Kristin offers her deeply skilled guidance in Clarity Breathwork to create a powerful, grounded and compassionate healing container. Their combined strengths invite participants into a space where emotional release, somatic unwinding and meaningful inner clarity can unfold safely and naturally.
A warm, gentle arrival with tea, soft music, and time to settle. We will open with introductions and an invitation to share what you are carrying into the longest night.
Name what feels heavy. Through grief-and-trauma-focused education and a structured Solstice Release deep dive, we’ll examine what you’ve been carrying and the emotional and physiological impact of holding it. This portion helps you identify what is ready for release and why the solstice—a natural threshold of transition—provides a powerful container for letting go and creating internal space.
Kristin will guide you through Clarity Breathwork, a gentle, conscious, connected breathing practice that helps you access deeper states of awareness, release stored emotions and reconnect with your inner self.
Clarity Breathwork uses a rhythmic, connected breath to activate the body’s natural ability to heal and transform. This practice supports grief and trauma work by helping the body unwind held tension, access emotions stored beneath the surface, and soften patterns that keep us feeling stuck or overwhelmed.
Kristin brings years of experience facilitating breath-centered healing and creates a deeply supportive environment where each person’s process is honored. This journey reaches the parts of us that talking alone cannot touch — allowing for emotional release, somatic unwinding, and moments of genuine clarity and insight.
After breathwork, you’ll move through private journaling, partner reflection, and gentle group sharing — helping you make meaning of what surfaced and settle back into grounded presence.
We will close with a simple, meaningful ritual honoring what has been released and what you are carrying forward. This moment marks the symbolic turning toward light — both within and around us — as the solstice begins the slow return of longer days.
