Soft Pastel 4-Day Workshop - "Tropical Seascape" - Wednesdays in June

Artist Tiffani Williams guides students age 16 to adult as they learn the basics of using soft pastel to paint a beautiful expressionist style seascape. This is a series of four, 90-minute sessions over four weeks, with each class building on the previous session. No experience necessary!

Techniques and concepts you will learn include:

- How sunlight affects skies, clouds, and water
- Types of strokes
- Color vs. temperature vs. value
- Color studies
- Sketching
- Underpainting
- Blocking and building layers
- Creating depth and detail
- Finding color where none exists
- Blending methods
- Fixing
- Framing

Fee for the four-part course is $150, payable at registration.
Class Dates are Wednesdays June 4, 11, 18 & 25, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm.

Supply List – Tiffani will provide paper, blending tools, fixative and reference photos. Attendees must provide:

- Soft pastels (not oil pastels) in a range of landscape colors

- #2 pencil and sharpener
- Optional – gloves, masks & hand wipes, if desired
- Our last lesson will include framing the painting. Please bring your choice of 11×14 frame with 8×10 mat and GLASS (not plexi or acrylic)
