We are living in a time of accelerated crises: our healthcare system is crumbling, neither workers’ wages nor government benefits are enough to make ends meet, stable housing is increasingly unaffordable for most people, and our destabilized climate has made our communities vulnerable to floods, fires, and other disasters, affecting our health and lives.
Behind these intersecting crises is a story driven by billionaires and corporate actors who value profit over collective community wellbeing.
It is time for us to build back our grassroots people power in the face of this corporate agenda. Join us to strengthen the connections across our broader movement and organize together to build a stronger, more equitable future with strong communities where we all thrive.
Doors open 6:30pm, with snacks available. The event is at Dennis Hall at the Coady Institute, St. Francis Xavier University; 4780 Tompkins Lane, Antigonish.
Program runs 7-9pm, with time for informal conversations afterwards as well.
This event is cosponsored by Sierra Club Canada, For Our Kids, A Roof Over Your Head, Nova Scotia Federation of Labour, Canadian Centre For Policy Alternatives - Nova Scotia, ACORN, Nova Scotia Health Coalition, Antigonish Coalition to End Poverty, Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment – NS, Canadian Labour Congress, Canada Research Chair in Sustainability and Social Change Research.
