About the event

Joseph Min plays the Baird Carillon in Burton Tower
Join us at Burton Tower to hear Joseph Min, winner of the 2024 International Queen Fabiola Carillon Competition. Joseph currently lives in New York City and attends the Columbia Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation (GSAPP). After graduating summa cum laude from the Royal Carillon School “Jef Denyn” in Mechelen, Belgium in 2023 studying under Koen Cosaert and Koen Van Assche, he has performed on carillons throughout America and Europe. Prior to this, he studied under Joey Brink at the University of Chicago where he was introduced to the instrument. He is a member of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America (GCNA) and has premiered multiple new compositions at GCNA congresses. Joseph now occasionally plays the carillon at the Riverside Church, as well as being a member of the Riverside Ringers handbell group. His work in acoustics and design will hopefully further both architecture and carillon culture.

CONCERT INFORMATION: Summer carillon concerts are free and open to all, including to families and their pets. The music happens rain or shine. Please note that concerts are scheduled on both Central and North Campus, so plan your commute accordingly. When you arrive, take a program from the stand near the tower and have a seat outdoors wherever you like, or bring your own lawn chair or blanket (even your own picnic!). Concert staff wearing nametags will be available to answer questions or direct you to accessible restrooms and other facilities. For best acoustics, sit far enough away from the tower to have a direct line of sight to the bells.

PARKING: The nearest municipal parking structures are at 324 Maynard and at 510 E Washington. Street parking may be limited.

Programs will be posted a week before each concert at www.gobluebells.com
