Join three local writers as they share from their “Rebel Books” as an act of resistance! Booksweet is thriled to welcome Michelle Yang, Molly Pershin Raynor, and Saba Keramati to read from their books. We will also have audience Q&A, book signings, and light refreshments!
About the Authors
Michelle Yang is an advocate whose writings on Asian American identity, body image, and mental health have been published in NBC News, CNN, and InStyle. She’s been featured on NPR, Washington Post, and Seattle Times. PHOENIX GIRL: HOW A FAT ASIAN WITH BIPOLAR FOUND LOVE is her debut memoir. When not writing, she loves traveling with her family and smoking up the kitchen with spicy recipes. Follow her on Instagram @michelleyangwriter.
Molly Pershin Raynor (she/her/hers) is a poet, healing practitioner, community builder, and momma to Malachi Moon. Her poetry has been featured on NPR and published in several literary magazines, including Vinyl, The Rumpus, Porkbelly Press, and Split Lip Magazine. ZAFTIG is Molly’s debut collection of poems from Fifth Avenue Press.
Saba Keramati is a Chinese-Iranian writer from the San Francisco Bay Area. Her debut poetry collection, Self-Mythology, was selected by Patricia Smith for publication in the Miller Williams Poetry Series at University of Arkansas Press. A winner of the 2023 92NY Discovery Poetry Prize, Saba holds an MFA from UC Davis. Saba also has a BA in English Literature from the University of Michigan.
