Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches you how to help someone who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. This session is part of a nationwide, evidence-based training program, tailored for the adult population.
Whether you’re a professional, student, caregiver, or community member — you can make a difference.
🧩 Training Format: Blended Adult MHFA with Virtual ILT
This course includes:
• Pre-course work on MHFA Connect (self-paced, required before session)
• Live Virtual Instructor-Led Training (ILT) on August 25
• This format allows flexibility and accessibility while maintaining engagement and interaction.
✅ What You’ll Learn:
You’ll gain skills to:
• Identify common signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges in adults.
• Respond with empathy and clarity in a mental health crisis.
• Use the MHFA Action Plan (ALGEE) to assess and assist.
• Connect individuals to appropriate care and resources.
Topics include:
💬 Depression • Anxiety • Trauma • Psychosis • Substance Use • Crisis Situations

• Educators, university staff, and health students
• HR professionals & team leaders
• Non-profit and community workers
• Concerned friends, neighbors, or family members
📌 Prerequisites:
• Complete the MHFA Connect self-paced module (2 hours) before the live session.
• Instructions will be sent after registration.
📜 Certificates & CEUs
Participants receive a Mental Health First Aider Certificate (valid for 3 years).
CEUs may be available — ask your professional licensing board for eligibility.
