Anchorage Firefighters Elliott Taylor Memorial Blood Drive

The Elliott Taylor Memorial Blood Drive is slated for Monday, May 12th, through Friday, May 16th, at the Blood Bank of Alaska. The last opportunity to donate for this effort is on May 17 at the AFD open house.

When you sign up, please tell them it is for the firefighter blood drive and also remind them of that at your donation appointment.

For those of you who didn’t know Elliott Taylor, he was a well-respected and well-liked firefighter at Fire Station 3 on B Shift. He tragically died at as the result of an off-duty accident just a few years after he started his career. He was only 26 years old.

Members of Local 1264 started the Elliott Taylor Memorial Blood drive in 2010 to save lives. One in three Alaskans will need blood in their lifetime, and just one donation can save up to three lives.
