Celebrated for his classical sophistication, extraordinary musicianship, and exceptional virtuosity, cellist Alexei Romanenko is recognized as one of the most engaging and dynamic performers on the global stage today. Born in Vladivostok, Russia, Romanenko began his cello training at just six years old and, by the age of twelve, had already earned First Prize at the Far-Eastern Competition. He furthered his studies at the renowned Moscow Conservatory, and after receiving numerous prestigious awards, he made the move to the United States to pursue an Artist Diploma at the New England Conservatory of Music. Currently, he holds the position of principal cellist with the Jacksonville Symphony, where he has established a multifaceted career as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician, collaborating with leading orchestras worldwide. His performances have garnered enthusiastic reviews from prominent publications such as the Boston Globe and San Francisco Classical Voice. In addition to his performing career, Romanenko has taught at the San Francisco Institute of Music and Huntington College, and he currently serves as a professor of cello at the University of North Florida. He has also taken on roles as guest principal cellist with the Auckland Philharmonia in New Zealand and the Des Moines Metro Opera in Iowa.
Jonathan Kuo, a violinist from Los Angeles, earned his Bachelor of Music from Juilliard and a Master of Music from the Manhattan School of Music. Since 2011, he has performed on a New England violin made by Douglas C. Cox. Jonathan became a member of the Jacksonville Symphony in September 2016, following a season with the Stavanger Symphony in Norway and two seasons with the New World Symphony in Miami Beach. His summer festival participation includes Astoria, Aspen, Britten-Pears, Pacific, Music Masters Course Japan, and Schleswig-Holstein. He has toured China with the Juilliard Orchestra and performed with the Sapporo Symphony in Hokkaido, Japan. In 2018 Jonathan collaborated with the Jacksonville-based Tedeschi Trucks Band, contributing to their album "Signs" as part of a string quartet.
