3rd Annual Asher Banks Memorial Blood Drive hosted by Nuvision Credit Union

Each year, Nuvision teams up with our members, the community, and the Blood Bank of Alaska to host a blood drive for Alaskans. Your donations over the past five years have helped save the lives of countless patients in our communities with critical health needs. 

Our Blood Drives in Alaska are incredibly special to us at Nuvision. Our longtime team member and VP of Branches Amy Tullos experienced a loss in her family two years ago. Her three-year-old grandson, Asher Banks, passed away after his courageous fight with Leukemia. 

During his memorial service, Asher’s parents asked for friends and family to donate blood to help families like theirs facing cancer. To continue to pay tribute to Asher’s memory it is our mission to raise awareness for the need for blood donations throughout Alaska. We are honored to invite you to donate at our 3rd Annual Asher Banks Memorial Blood Drive on Friday, June 6th from 8:30 AM-4:00 PM at our Anchorage Financial Center (440 E. 36th Ave.). 

If you live outside of Anchorage, you can still participate by donating blood between May 30th and June 6th at your local Regional Blood Bank of Alaska Center.

According to the Blood Bank of Alaska, only 2% of Alaskans donate blood annually, while a staggering 1 in 3 Alaskans will need a blood donation in their lifetime. Your donation can help someone like Asher in the community, who is in vital need of a blood donation.

All donors will receive double Hero Points to be used at the Blood Bank of Alaska’s online store.

1. Sign up for a specific time slot through the Blood Bank of Alaska website. You will need to create a Blood Bank of Alaska account to choose your time slot.

ALASKA STATEWIDE BLOOD DRIVE

If you are located in Fairbanks, Juneau, Kenai, or Wasilla, you can still participate in the drive by donating blood at your regional blood center between 5/30-6/6/2025. Please call your regional center to schedule your appointment. To redeem double hero reward points for this drive, you can use the sign-in sheet at the centers and bring a Nuvision Alaska donor slip with you.
