Steelhead Tagging Research: A Presentation by Dr. Andy Seitz at the Peanut Farm

Who doesn't love steelhead? Join us for a presentation by Dr. Andy Seitz of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, University of Alaska Fairbanks. Over the last ten years, he has been involved in tagging a variety of salmonid species with pop-up satellite archival tags. The goal is to use these tags to better understand ocean migration routes, diving behavior, survivorship, and the thermal environments these fish experience. He and the others involved with the research are expanding the program to the Kenai Peninsula in 2026. This will be an excellent opportunity to hear about how different salmonids use the ocean environment early in their life cycle and learn about a new research initiative on Kenai area streams.
