Dave Cottle Trio & Sarah Meek | 'Louis & Ella Show'
The Louis & Ella Music Show celebrates the songs recorded by Louis Armstrong & Ella Fitzgerald with the Oscar Peterson Quartet, along with a huge repertoire of songs both recorded and performed solo and with other ensembles. The set is packed with songs from the Great American Songbook; from George Gershwin and Irving Berlin, to Rodgers & Hart and Cole Porter. Join us for a very special musical tribute to Louis & Ella, plus some of the Trio’s own arrangements and original songs, very much in the magical style of Louis and Ella.

Dave Cottle is a vastly experienced professional musician with a wealth of musical experience. Since 1995, Dave has been the resident house pianist at the UK’s longest running weekly jazz club, Swansea Jazz Club. He has accompanied hundreds of Jazz artists from all over the world and is adept at playing many different styles of music. Dave has been Artistic Director at Swansea Jazz since 1995, arranging the weekly programme of events plus the annual Swansea International Jazz Festival, founded by Dave in 2014. As a session musician, Dave has worked with countless theatre and touring shows, as well as his own dance band, DC Party & Dance Band.
The Louis & Ella shows gives Dave an opportunity to showcase his mastery of playing trumpet and piano at the same time with an homage to two of his most influential Jazz musicians: Louis Armstrong & Oscar Peterson.
Since her graduation from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with a Masters degree in Jazz Vocals, Sarah Meek has firmly established herself as a fine jazz & session vocalist with an engaging stage presence & personality. Sarah also plays piano and guitar and is Musical Director of the Accordia Choir, based in Cardiff.
