INFORMATION ABOUT THE REGION
Bcharreh (بشرّي), nestled in the heart of the Qadisha Valley in North Lebanon, is a picturesque mountain town known for its deep cultural roots, spiritual heritage, and breathtaking landscapes. At an elevation of around 1,500 meters, it offers cool summers, snowy winters, and panoramic views of Lebanon’s most sacred valley.
Just above Bcharreh lies the Cedars of God forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the last remnants of the ancient cedar forests that once blanketed Mount Lebanon.
The Qadisha Valley, also a UNESCO site, stretches below Bcharreh and is home to ancient monasteries carved into cliffs, hermit caves, and the mystical Qadisha Grotto, a limestone cave with stunning formations.
To offset the carbon emissions of this event, two cedar trees will be planted on Falougha Mountain.
Event of Green Steps by the NGO “Oaks & Cedars”.
