💰 FEES                            : 20$ /person including transportation 🚌 (comfortable air-conditioned Pullman) professional guides photos and the activities.

🎒 WHAT TO GET                 : Get some light snacks that will boost up your energy such as dried fruits. Pack your backpacks with water a cap sunglasses and sunscreen. Wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes preferably hiking shoes (A professional brand is recommended).

📜 DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:

Join us this Saturday 18th to experience a new type of ecological activity in one of the most charming places in Batroun district. It’s about olive picking hiking and olive oil extraction at Douma village.

A-   The hiking trip will include the following:

Intermediate Level; Hiking duration is ~2H

Length ~ 5 km

Variance in altitude ~ 100 m

Altitude above sea level: 900 to 1000 m.

The hike (Springs trail) will go around the well-preserved and authentic village of Douma between the olive trees orchards; we will have the chance to walk in the old souk of Douma too this beautiful village known for its special location and great landmarks its houses red brick and unique temperate climate. We will be also able to visit the Heritage museum to discover old handcrafts and listens to the history of Douma.

B-   The olive picking experience will include the following:

We will start by meeting the villagers who will share with us their experience in olive picking and how it could be done their attachment to the land as well as their traditions and lifestyle. And once arriving at the olive picking area we will be divided into small groups and provided materials for work; the procedure is easy and kids friendly can be listed by: setting the maps under the trees shaking the branches by hand and pneumatic rakes and filling the crates to transport them to the local oil press in the village at the end of the day.

You have the option to do only the olive picking experience if you don’t want to do the hiking trail.

Then our lunch break will be in Chalhoub Restaurant where we will have lunch together in a restful place in nature under the local olive trees.

You can order your sandwiches/meals directly from the souk nearby the restaurant.

As mention before we will end our journey by gathering at an olive press will visit it learn about oil making and organic farming.

This event is convenient for all ages; the whole family can enjoy it! An early reservation is advised.
