Dear hikers,
Hadath el Jebbeh, also known as Hadad, and known locally as Hadid, is a town located in Bsharri District in the North Governorate of Lebanon. It was originally settled in 400 A.D. and is situated on a hill at an altitude of 1500 meters, overlooking the Kadisha valley.
The village is 94 km away from Lebanese Capital, Beirut, and 36 km away from Tripoli, the largest city in North Lebanon.
The Semitic root of Hadath means "the new", hence the name could mean "the new town.
Hadad was the northwest Semitic storm and rain god and the town could have had a temple dedicated to this god. And the popular tradition claims that the church dedicated to the saint patron of Hadath, Saint Daniel, was built on the remnants of a pagan temple.
Bazaoun is a Lebanese village and municipality located in the Bsharri District of the North Governorate. It is characterized by its old, tiled houses. The word "Bazaoun" is of Aramic origin and means "hole."
The village is famous for its old houses with their distinctive tiled style.
Description of the trail:
The trail starts for Al Mil areas on the main road between Hadath el Jebbe and Tannourine (1700m) passing by Dimane, hasroun, Bazoun. You will walk on an ascending dirt road for the 4 kms and then the rest of the path will be flat and easy.
Our hike will be around 11 kms, we will start at an altitude of 1700 m reaching the highest point of our hike in hadath el jebbe at an altitude of 1950 m. We will pass by 5 water springs, several lakes, orchards of apples without forgetting the panoramic view of wadi qannoubine and Makmel mountains as well as the cedars of Becharre.
We can pick up apples on our way.
We will complete our day in Bekaakafra, with wine tasting in Kafra winery. Eventhough a humble establishment with a limited yearly production, Kafra has successfully launched one white wine made from merwah grapes, and two different types of apple cider, tenaciously meeting up with the demands of an evolving consumer market.

1- @ 7:30 am: jal dib near DHL and Banque Libano Francaise facing the Canadian embassy (we can pick our hikers that live on our way)
2- @ 7:15 am: near Al Amine Mosque downtown Beirut.

Required materials: hiking boots, backpack, hat, 3L of water, raincoat, sunglasses, sunscreen, healthy snacks, hiking stick, torch.
