Following her electrifying performance on Saturday, May 17th at The Drake, Argentinian singer/composer/producer and performer Mica Farías Gómez will present an acoustic set on Friday June 6th as part of the First Fridays concert series at Cherry Hill Cohousing in North Amherst. Mica will perform with her partner and fellow musician, percussionist/drummer Manuel Uriona. Singer and Songwriter Nina Mankin will do a short opening set.
Mica Farías Gómez’s music is dedicated to the research and production of Argentine and Latin American folk music in encounters with other folkloric roots music and contemporary sound currents. Her multifaceted, lush and passionate music and souring vocal cadences can be heard on two studio albums and one live album (all available online) and in the music she composed for the 2018 original soundtrack of the Netflix series El Recluso (the series won the Best International Award at the 2019 Emmys.)

First Friday Coho Concerts provide a creative forum for talented and visionary musicians to share their gifts and be supported by attendee contributions in a way that values their artistry and encourages their dedication to building a brighter world. Performances take place in the Common House “Great Room” at Cherry Hill Cohousing, a space intimate enough to feel like a house concert but large enough to draw in the larger community. The series is a purely volunteer effort, organized by cohousing members who enjoy live music and want to share their delight with other music lovers in the Valley. All proceeds benefit the artists.
