Imbolc Celebration

Please join New Moon in the Valley as we celebrate the First Fires of Spring! The old names for this sacred time of year are Imbolg, which means “in the bag”, and Oimelc, which means “ewes’ milk”. This is the time when the sheep begin to give milk again, three days before they give birth, an ancient and holy milk festival. We will honor the Goddess Brighid with music, cow’s milk and oat milk, the blessing of candles, and the making of Brighid’s crosses. As always, we request that you bring a snack to share after the rite, as well as a shelf stable (canned, boxed or bottled) food contribution for the Amherst Survival Center. The suggested donation is $5.00 though no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
