Beginning Drawing with Jeanie Arey

Explore the fundamentals of drawing basics with Jeanie Arey at The Mill District Local Art Gallery on Tuesdays (6/24, 7/8, and 7/22) from 3:30-5:30pm.

Drawing is an essential skill that can be easily applied to creating paintings, regardless of medium. Each Tuesday afternoon class will focus on some basic drawing skills, including composition, perspective, negative and positive space, and lighting. Participants will explore these skills to then apply to their own work.

Free. Please RSVP for each class. 12+ with adult accompaniment. Paper and pencil provided.

Artist Bio:

Jeanie Arey, from Belchertown, has always enjoyed the process of sitting down and appreciating art. She has taken numerous classes throughout her life to increase her skill and appreciates the instructors who have encouraged and taught her so much, especially the generous artists from the Springfield Art Museum. Jeanie offers this class as an opportunity for individuals to relax while deepening their understanding of drawing mechanics. In these uncertain times, Jeanie finds it meditative to immerse herself in drawing and desires to share a safe space for you to do the same while sharing new skills for you to use in your future art projects.
