Join Candace Stevens, Licensed Professional Counselor and experienced yoga teacher, for a weekend immersion exploring the intersection of yoga, psychology, and the mind-body connection. Through the lens of both ancient wisdom and modern science, you’ll gain insight into how both yoga and the tools of psychology support mental and emotional well-being.
Together, we’ll explore:
🌀 Yogic philosophy and how it aligns with contemporary understandings of mental health.
🌀 The impact of depression, trauma, and anxiety on the body and nervous system.
🌀 How yoga practices— movement, breathwork, and mindfulness— can help regulate emotional and physiological responses.
🌀 Your own stress patterns and coping strategies, and how to cultivate practices that meet your needs in real time.
This workshop is ideal for teachers who would like to teach classes that are attuned to mental health concerns, and any student who would like to explore the connections between their mind and their practice.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This immersion is not a substitute for mental health care. This is not a trauma processing experience. It iis focused on learning and developing coping skills through the practice of yoga. There will be journaling and self exploration to help deepen our self understanding to better apply the skills.
