Downtown Women’s Center is celebrating our 36th anniversary in 2025! We would be honored for you to join us at our DWC Spring Luncheon, on May 6, 2025, 11:30 – 1:00, at the Civic Center in the North Exhibit Hall. Please, save the date! Your presence would be a gift to us in itself!
In December 2023, we purchased the house next door to our current shelter, Haven House, which is home to women new in recovery from alcohol and other drug addictions. Our fourth shelter, Haven House Too, is now fully renovated and donors are helping to furnish and decorate the four bedrooms, two bathrooms, living area, and kitchen. This shelter is unique in that it will be utilized for homeless women new in recovery who have small children with them, and for women who come to us pregnant and deliver while living with us. We currently have two women ready to give birth and they will be our first residents at Haven House Too.
Serving more moms with children brings the challenge of needing to increase our income. Our Spring Luncheon is our only fundraising event of the year. Please come and learn how trauma is tied to addiction and how our women are recovering and living clean, sober, and productive lives. Children will never have to see their moms addicted to drugs or alcohol again.
Sponsorships are available with benefits including tables for the event. Go to the website for more information.
