Beer with a Biologist: Explore the Salt Plains!

Grab a drink and learn about the Salt Plains!

Join Shane Kasson, Refuge Manager for Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge, and Chris Rosado, Customer Services Specialist for Salt Plains State Park at Alva Beer Co. Explore the history of the area with the formation of the Great Salt Plains Dam, Refuge, and State Park. Not only is it a site of international importance for shorebirds, critical habitat for the endangered whooping crane, and a National Nature Landmark with the Department of the Interior, but it is the only place in the world hourglass selenite crystals form.

All attendees will receive a free selenite crystal!
