Trap for a Lonely Man is a psychological thriller about a man, Daniel Corban, whose wife disappears and is then replaced by a woman who claims to be her. As Daniel insists she is an imposter, a priest brings her to him, and others present evidence that she is indeed his wife, leaving him questioning his sanity as he suspects a conspiracy possibly linked to an inheritance. The plot builds with increasing tension as the man tries to prove the woman is a fraud while the other characters seem intent on discrediting him.
