Where surrealism meets the supernatural during Alton’s legendary Halloween Parade!
ALTON, IL:
This Halloween, Mooneyham Art invites you to step out of the ordinary and slip into The Zone, an art exhibition unfolding at 305 State Street in haunted downtown Alton. The Zone will coincide with the city’s historic Halloween Parade. This immersive experience offers a surreal escape from the cold, complete with live music, hot cocoa, and mind-bending art.
A Parade Over 100 Years Strong:
Alton’s Halloween Parade is the oldest and longest-running Halloween parade in the United States, drawing thousands of spectators each year. As floats roll down the street and costumes fill the night, Mooneyham Art opens its doors to offer warmth, wonder, and a glimpse into the uncanny.
Live Music by Psychedelic Symphony:
Inside The Zone, the atmosphere will be electrified by a live performance from Psychedelic Symphony bringing sonic surrealism to match the visual spectacle.
Free Hot Cocoa & Warm Vibes:
Guests are invited to step inside, sip complimentary hot cocoa, and explore a gallery transformed into another dimension.
Art You Can Take Home Later:
Purchases made during the show can be “red-dotted” for pickup after the parade or the following day, allowing guests to enjoy the festivities hands-free.
FEATURED ARTISTS:
Tom Blood
A self-taught surrealist painter influenced by René Magritte, Tom paints the improbable with clarity and mystery. His storytelling canvases have reached audiences across four continents and earned accolades in galleries throughout the Midwest.
Tyler Clayberg:
A master of black-and-white realism, Tyler blends the light of Bob Ross with the darkness of Edgar Allan Poe. His award-winning work are exhibited nationwide, including a permanent piece at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.
Charles Mooneyham: Artist & Curator
Nationally recognized for his surrealist-pop creations and community-driven exhibitions, Charles curates Mooneyham Art as both a gallery and a creative incubator. His work challenges perspectives and his events elevate artists while fostering dialogue and social impact. As for curation, Charles is supported by Co-Curator, Stephen Scordias, who brings 30 years of award-winning experience as an artist and 20 years of administrative experience at a university level.
