Dinosaur Day

Come for a train ride and meet the South Tynedale Railway Dino!
Travel through the beautiful South Tyne Valley to Slaggyford, in one of our trains hauled by a heritage locomotive. Meet our friendly dino who will have a gift for everyone aged 0-17! There's a trail to follow around our Alston site and a badge to claim if you find all the dinos! Our mezzanine level above the engineering workshop will be open so you can find out about the history of our railway and see what the volunteers are working on in the workshop. Our site and trains are accessible and dog friendly too. Wooly’s at the Crossing Cafe at Alston will be open serving a range of meals, snacks and hot and cold drinks and the Little Buffet Car at Slaggyford will be open for snacks too. We are dog friendly and wheelchair accessible. Come along for a great family day out!
