Kids Day

With help from a Youth and Recreation grant, the Alpena FFA, The Alpena Optomists, Alpena Lions Club and many area businesses The Friends of the Alpena Farmers’ Market host this event. Kids Day is our main event where The Alpena Farmers’ Market takes on a carnival atmosphere as it fills with families with children. The throng is entertained with live music and dancing with Claire Schreiber. There are many free activities including Lappan Agency bounce house and inflatable slides, FFA petting zoo and hay rides, HPC hay bale pyramid with help from Mike and Dave Timm Tillage, Alpena Community Credit Union face painting, Wolverine dunk tank with the Thunder Bay Schooners, Northland Area Credit Union duck race and snow cones, Blue Cross Blue Shield fruit and vegetable tasting and AACU bubble and foam party under the Dave Dargis Express Care and Optomist big tents, free popcorn, Stanson petal tractors, Alpena Walmart Bike drawing, Alpena County Library kids program, AMA ESD Great Starts Collaborative, Alpena Fire Department truck My Michigan ambulance, pumpkins, and many other completely free activities.
