Denise Lynn Krull, 63, of Waverly, passed away at UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital. She was born in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Kenneth and Alyce (Benham) Hussey. Denise attended Cedar Falls High School and later attended Hawkeye Tech, where she studied Respiratory Therapy. In October of 1998, she married Jim Krull; the couple later divorced. Denise worked in retail for many years, most recently with Walmart and Casey’s.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Christopher Hussey; her great-grandson, Ky’Zair Moore; and a great-niece. Denise is survived by her children: Matthew (Kaelyn) Shearon of Waverly, Kenneth (Ashley) Hussey II of Nashua, and Amanda (J) Lund of Allison. She leaves behind 12 beloved grandchildren: Raylynn (Malic), Devon (Carlie), Makenzie (Quan), Justine, Dillon, Kendalynn, Sydney, Kenneth III, Annilynn, Aubrey, Avery, and Amery. And 7 precious great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Deb Lenguadoro of Grundy Center, Annie (Dave) Byford of Ackley, and Lisa (John) Mathis of Mt. Auburn.
After bravely surviving cancer, Denise continued to live life to the fullest, cherishing every moment. She had a passion for seahorses and enjoyed collecting rocks and crystals. Denise loved the outdoors—fishing, camping, and riding motorcycles. She was also a devoted Elvis fan who loved to dance to anything on the radio. Denise was known by so many as mom, if anyone needed something or someone, she was the person. But Denise found her greatest joy in being a grandmother. Her Grand babies were her world!
