It's that time of year again for the annual Take a Line for a Walk.
10:00am - 1:00pm

This event is a sketching treasure hunt. You will be challenged (as always, this is optional) to find and draw as many of the subjects on The List as you can within the treasure hunt boundaries and within the time given. It's a continuous line exercise/sketching treasure hunt (see the "Rules" below) – not truly urban sketching but certainly on location drawing and a chance to stretch your legs after all that feasting.
**NOTE**: The List will be posted the day before under the Discussion tab of this event.
All are welcome whether beginner or seasoned pro.
10:00 – MEET at the Astride Aside (the metal walking man) sculpture at the South Pasadena Metro Station. (Shown in the event photo)
12:30 – RECONVENE at the same location for throw down and group photo.
1:00 – END and lunch, for those wanting to stay, at one of the nearby restaurants.
PARKING – Free all day parking in the Mission-Meridian garage at 807 Meridian Ave. There is also 2, 3, and 4 hour free street parking all around the area. Check the signs!!
BRING – Minimal materials that you can use standing up and MOVING from subject to subject. Maybe bring a larger sketchbook this time so that you can make interesting compositions on the page with the various objects.
DESCRIPTION
This is a sketching treasure hunt (rebels and rule breakers welcome!).
THE LIST of subjects for you to find and draw will be posted under the Discussion tab of this event the day before.
Print The List or take a photo of it to have with you.
“RULES:” ��You can do one of the following OR both activities at the same time:�For Continuous Line: Draw each subject in one continuous line, without taking your pen or pencil off the paper (except when hunting for your next subject).
For Sketching Scavenger Hunt: Start with the striding man sculpture at the South Pasadena Metro station and go from there, capturing as many objects on the list as you can. (You can draw other things if you want but the list is long and life short.) Have fun!
