On October 21 & 22, the Piece to Peace Quilters are welcoming Andrea Funk of Too Cool T-Shirt Quilts as she shares her revolutionary methods of designing T-Shirt Quilts. It focuses on learning how to make custom T-Shirt Quilts without using stabilizer. Each block is a custom size and is graphed and map out. Andrea's quilts are highly regarded and in high demand. Piece to Peace Quilters have two different opportunities for you to join them in their new sewing space at the Algonac Activity Center:
October 21: This is an all day workshop that runs from 9:00 am to 4:30pm(ish). You will learn Andrea's Basic Puzzle Method. You will construct and finish your own T-Shirt Quilt top that day. This class will require you to bring 15-20 of your own T-shirts to construct your top along with a list of class supplies that will be emailed to you when you register. You will receive a copy of Andrea's book as part of the class (a $25.00 value) You must select a single book purchase ticket when registering. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided, as well as plenty of chocolate. (If you have any special dietary needs, you may need to provide your own meal). We will have plenty of water, coffee and tea. If you have any additional beverage needs, we kindly ask you to bring that with you. There is a 20 person limit to this workshop. Cost: $100 (Total of Class + Book)
October 22: This is a half day workshop that runs from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. This workshop will allow you to view some of Andrea's completed works; learn about her method and "practice" at multiple stations. You will receive a copy of Andrea's book as part of this class (a $25.00 value). You must select a single book purchase ticket when registering. You do not need to bring any T-Shirts. All demo materials will be provided. You will get to practice each step of the technique at stations and will work around the room. Each participant will take home one completed block. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided, as well as plenty of chocolate. (If you have any special dietary needs, you may need to provide your own meal). We will have plenty of water, coffee and tea. If you have any additional beverage needs, we kindly ask you to bring that with you. There is a 35 person limit to this workshop. Cost $85.00 (Total of Class + Book)
Can't decide which day: Having trouble deciding which day to attend? Have A LOT of T-Shirt Quilts to make this year and want to perfect your skills. You can attend both days for: $160 You will need to register for 1 book ticket and each workshop. (You will only receive one copy of the book with your registration).
Can't make the workshop and want a book: You can can order a book in advance and we will hold it for you to pick up. Cost $25.00
Please be aware that you will need to register for one or both workshop and purchase a single book ticket. This will equal the total listed for each workshop option. If you are attending both days you only need to purchase one book ticket. You may purchase more than one if you choose. Additional books may be ordered through the book ticket option as well.
