First Friday Art in Algoma - Christine Style, Really Big Prints and More

Style has created prints for Really Big Prints, a steamroller print event that began in 2014 and has been every other year (COVID made it change from even years to odd years). She will show her prints from 2021 and 2023, ‘Birdgirl Contemplates Nature’, woodcut with chine collé, 49 x 30 inches, and “Princess Poppy Ponders Potted Plants”, woodcut with chine collé on pre-painted paper, 49 x 30 inches. Style will also showcase a few of her “Jewels”, 3D woodcut forms, which are laser-scored and cut, then folded into three-dimensional shapes, as well as the mini laser-etched prints based on the larger prints.
Style is a professor emeritus in art and design from UW-Green Bay. Style lived in Algoma (on Krohn’s Lake) from 1981 to 1995 with her daughters, Sarah Davitt and Victoria Maher (Davitt). Style also ran the Capetownsend Workshops in Algoma from 1986-1989.

Christine Style recently opened The Art Studio in De Pere, WI, as a second studio with exhibition space located at 124 N Broadway, De Pere – on the northeast corner of the Lee Building.
