Join us for a breakfast event, in partnership with Homeward Trails Animal Rescure, to celebrate Melanie D.G. Kaplan's new book LAB DOG: A BEAGLE AND HIS HUMAN INVESTIGATE THE SURPRISING WORLD OF ANIMAL RESEARCH.
Melanie, a D.C. native and longtime independent journalist, will share how she was inspired by her beagle, Hammy, to investigate the breeding and use of beagles for biomedical research, drug and product testing, and education to write LAB DOG, which is equal parts journalism and love story. Melanie will also be available to sign books and chat with attendees.
Hammy and other Envigo beagles will be present and ready for pets and visits.
Your ticket includes a bagel breakfast and $10 from every ticket purchased will be donated to Homeward Trails Animal Rescue.
