On the September 1 nationwide day of protest, the goal of the rally is to bring Alexandrians together to stand in solidarity with all of our immigrant neighbors and denounce the recent ICE abductions of people in our community, including workers.
Please join us at the rally from 10AM-11AM. After hearing from community members directly affected by ICE and remarks from elected representatives, rally-goers will have the opportunity to sign up for concrete actions and follow-up at “Action Stations" from 11AM-12PM.
For those who are unable to attend the rally in person, we also are requesting donations of material items to distribute to Chirilagua-Arlandria residents who are struggling due to the loss of income caused by ICE. Stop by starting at 9:30 to drop off the below items.
Food:
Rice, Uncooked red bean, White Corn Flour (Maseca), Cooking Oil, Instant Coffee, Sugar, Cereal, Oatmeal, Instant Ramen Noodle Soup
Basic Hygiene Items:
Laundry detergent Soap, Dish Soap, ToothPaste, Paper towels, Toilet Paper
On this Labor Day, we see this truth as self-evident: The survival, the existence, the future of Alexandria, - and its families, its workers - depends on all of us working together to protect our immigrant family, friends, and neighbors and get ICE out of Alexandria.
