Triennial General Meeting: Merton Hall & Recreation Reserve
Elections for the Committee of Management
The Triennial General Meeting (TGM) for the Committee of Management of Merton Hall & Merton Recreation Reserve is just around the corner. This is a wonderful opportunity for local residents to get directly involved in the stewardship of our community spaces.
At this meeting, all positions on the Committee will be open for election. It’s your chance to step forward, contribute your ideas, and play a key role in managing and improving the properties that sit at the heart of Merton.
What is the Committee of Management?
The Committee is made up of community members who take responsibility for managing, improving, and maintaining the Merton Hall and Recreation Reserve. These Crown land reserves serve both locals and visitors, providing essential spaces for recreation, social events, and gatherings.
The Committee’s role is vital to ensuring these facilities are well cared for and continue to meet the needs of both today’s community and future generations.
What Does the Role Involve?
Committee membership is a rewarding commitment. Members attend around six meetings a year, where decisions are made and plans are developed.
Between meetings, there may be opportunities to help with planning, organising events, or coordinating maintenance. Whether your skills are in management, finance, event planning, or simply a passion for community life, there’s a role for you.
Why Get Involved?
Becoming a Committee member means:
• Contributing directly to the wellbeing of your community.
• Supporting the upkeep and growth of our local facilities.
• Working with other committed locals to make a lasting difference.
The Committee’s decisions shape how we all use Merton Hall and the Recreation Reserve — from facility maintenance to new community projects.
How to Participate
The TGM is open to all community members. Nominations for Committee positions will be accepted during the meeting.
If you’d like to stand for election — or simply learn more — please join us. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet current members, ask questions, and see where you can contribute.
Together, we can continue making Merton Hall and the Recreation Reserve spaces we can all be proud of.
