From Theatre 3, the company that brought you that sad play about death, comes another play about death, but kinda funny. This one is about time travel, death, talking down to fictional characters, antiquated psychological paradigms and storytelling itself! Oooooooooh!
In this music-less musical, Jen is a person who is a lot of people and Max is not anyone anymore, can anyone solve that conundrum!? Sit back, relax, and possibly be forcibly included in a story so far up its own butt and written just long enough ago to be neither a classic nor new but either way, the critics are raving!
“It’s pretty good I guess” -- Kevin Benjamin, The writer of the play.
“No really you should go but... like be prepared to be pretty welmed” -- Same guy, who is me.
“I’m confident that someone told me they liked it once ” – Still Me, who is confused why people let me near keyboards.
Theatre 3 presents a reading and talkback of company member Kevin Benjamin's latest work They (I) Kicked Me (My) Own A**.
What you need to know:
1. Doors will open at 6:30, with the reading starting at 7:00.
2. This is a free event! We are always happy to take donations, or have you buy our merch to help us continue to create work, but we are equally thrilled if you simply show up and support our stuff by filling our audience, so please don't let cost deter you!
3. After the reading, we'll take a quick break with light refreshments before diving into the feedback portion of our event. We have a structure in place that will help guide the conversation so our playwright can get the most out of the evening. Don't worry if you don't have a PhD in playwriting, your opinions and feedback are still valuable, so please don't feel intimated to stick around. We are looking for honest, care-filled thoughts to make this work the best it can be.
