About the Show Concept:

The Tempest will be set entirely on a beach setting.

Ariel as a genie trapped in a bottle by Prospero who releases Ariel only for prank assignments, Caliban may actually be the illegitimate son of Prospero and therefore Miranda's brother, and possibly he is physically attractive or physically gifted in movement and enslaved rather than "a monster". Sycorax is Caliban’s mother and possibly a cast-off lover of Prospero, all extrapolated beyond Shakespeare's text but all very The Real Housewives of Unnamed Island. The fairies should ideally include be strong people who can lift Ferdinand and his shipmates during the shipwreck and tornado.

The island should seem like a desperate and otherworldly place, like Alice's looking-glass, but a physically taxing environment that mere humans physically struggle in. The non-human and magic characters have an advantage on this Survivor island. Design-wise the entire environment should be mostly hot, subtropical, beachy, mostly pleasant and paradisical but suddenly unsheltered and unprotected when the magic storms arise.
